UofR Service Workers Approve Labor Contract

UPDATE: Service Workers at the University of Rochester River Campus and Medical Center have overwhelmingly approved a new contract.

The new 3-year deal gives workers an 18% pay hike, with starting pay going up to $17 per hour.

Service Employees International Union Vice President Tracy Harrison says it's a good deal.

The 1,800 union members staged a one-day strike earlier this month to press for a new deal.

The last contract expired October 31st.
