The Rochester City School District says the Monroe High School JV basketball player who collapsed during a game yesterday is in stable condition at Strong Hospital and steadily improving.
School safety officer Jushawn Rucker and trainer Dave DiPasquale revived the player with a portable defibrillator.
The player regained consciousness and was taken away by ambulance.
Monroe was playing School of the Arts at the School 33 gym.
The JV and varsity games were canceled.
