U of R Safety Officer Struck During Student Protest

A University of Rochester student has been arrested, after allegedly hitting a public safety officer.

It happened during an unsanctioned protest at the Wilson Commons building on Monday.

School officials say officers asked a group called "Students for Justice in Palestine" to disperse, when one of the students punched the officer in the head.

A union official tells Bob Lonsberry the officer was not seriously hurt.

Charges are pending.
