The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is extending their media outreach in the search for a missing RIT student.

They say they're now looking in the Syracuse and Adirondack regions.

Matthew Grant has been missing since last Monday night and left his phone at home.

In Facebook messages, the family has been asking people heading north from Syracuse on I-81, and between Watertown and Lake Placid on Route 3, to scan the ditches and roadsides for his Jeep.

They believe he may have been going to Whiteface Mountain.
