Indictment Unsealed Against Rochester Man in Homicide Near Transit Center

UPDATE: The indictment against the suspect in the deadly shooting outside the downtown transit center last month -- has been unsealed.

44-year-old Jamel Robinson is charged with 2nd-degree murder, along with 1st-degree assault and gun crimes.

Original story:

A Monroe County grand jury has indicted the suspect in last week's deadly shooting outside the downtown transit center.

The indictment is sealed, for now, but includes at least one felony charge against Jamel Robinson.

He was arrested after the shooting death of Kevin Ridgdon, and the wounding of another man.

Robinson is a past sex offender and was discharged from lifetime parole last year.

His attorney argued unsuccessfully yesterday that prosecutors missed a deadline for a preliminary hearing and Robinson should be released.
