URMC Service Workers Approve Strike

Members of the service employees union at the University of Rochester Medical Center have overwhelmingly approved a strike.

Union officials say 99 percent of workers voted in favor.

A strike would last two days, and union leaders will now choose a date to issue a 10-day notice of a walkout.

The labor contract for more than 1,800 workers expired at the end of last month

There have been over two dozen bargaining sessions between the union and URMC officials, but they haven't led to a deal.
