1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Shooting Near Rochester Transit Center

Rochester Police Chief David Smith says a person of interest has been detained in connection with a deadly shooting outside the RTS Transit Center.

It happened around 8 a.m. on St. Paul Street.

A man in his 30s was killed and a man in his 40s was wounded and is stable at Strong Hospital.

Police have closed off the area.

At last check, transit buses were operating from the Clinton Avenue side of the building, and some were running late.

It's the first homicide in the city in nearly a month. But the victim is the 53rd in the city this year.
