UPDATE: No Bail for Pittsford Cornell Student Accused of Threaening Jews

UPDATE: Bail has been denied for the Cornell University student from Pittsford charged with making antisemitic threats.

Patrick Dai is in custody in Binghamton on a federal charge of threatening to kill or injure another person using interstate communications.

He allegedly threatened violence against Jewish people at Cornell, and court papers say he admitted to making the online posts.

Dai's attorney waived a preliminary hearing originally scheduled for next week.

A Cornell student from Pittsford is accused of making violent threats toward the school's Jewish community.

Federal prosecutors say 21-year-old Patrick Dai threatened to shoot up the Kosher dining hall.

In another post, he said he'd "slit the throat' of any Jewish men he sees on campus, and throw any Jewish woman off a cliff.

Dai is charged with posting threats to kill another using interstate communications.

The charge carries a 5-year maximum prison sentence.

Dai will make an initial appearance in a Syracuse federal courtroom tomorrow.
