One of Rochester's first African-American nurses has passed away.
Rosa Wims turned was considered a trailblazer.
In recognition of her 100th birthday last year, Rochester Regional Health created a scholarship in her name to help train new nurses.
For more than 30 years, Wims partnered with Foodlink to host Thanksgiving dinners for hundreds of people.
Mayor Evans said in a statement, "She set a fine example by always putting people first and looking for ways to uplift and improve our city."
Plans are pending for a celebration of her life.
