Monroe County Executive Candidate Calls Out Erroneous School Tax Bills

With less than seven weeks left in the campaign for Monroe County Executive, Republican candidate Mark Assini is making an issue out of erroneous school tax bills sent to some area homeowners.

Assini blames County Executive Adam Bello's administration, and he's calling for a state audit. Bello, however says the problems are the fault of two towns that failed to submit correct information to the county.

The county says the affected properties are in the Irondequoit and Wheatland-Chili school districts.

Residents of Irondequoit were notified in the mail this past week that they overpaid their school tax.
