State Fines Increase For Telemarketers Violating The Do Not Call Registry

The governor has signed a new state law that increases the fines for telemarketers that violate the Do Not Call Registry.

The maximum fine has gone up from $11,000 to $20,000.

Last year, the governor signed a law giving people getting calls the option to be added to a telemarketer's do not call list when the call begins.
