Plans to Reconfigure Rochester City Schools Have Been Announced

Rochester school Superintendent Carmine Peluso has introduced a comprehensive plan to reconfigure the city schools.

Peluso says the proposed closings and realignments are based on declining enrollments, building conditions and program offerings, and the district's long-term financial outlook.

The proposed closures included the Franklin Upper School, the Northeast College Preparatory High School, three middle schools and six elementary schools.

A school board vote is expected next month.
