Fmr. Irondequoit Police Chief Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud

Former Irondequoit Police Chief Alan Laird has pleaded guilty to federal tax fraud charges.

Prosecutors say Laird admitted filing false tax returns from 2016 to 2021 for his security firm, Swoop 1, failing to report income subject to hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes.

Co-owner Steven Rosenbaum pleaded guilty to similar charges last month.

Laird retired as the chief in Irondequoit last fall.

Laird and Rosenbaum will be sentenced in December.
