Rochester's new Fire Chief takes over today.
Mayor Malik EVans announced last month former Batavia fire chief Stefano Napolitano as his pick.
Napolitano replaces interim Chief Teresa Everett, who had helmed the Department since Chief Felipe Hernandez retired in February.
Napolitano's last job was as deputy state fire administrator for the state office of fire prevention and control.
City Council recently signed off on Napolitano's appointment.
