Nearly Three Dozen Migrant Children in Rochester Will Attend City Schools

32 children from asylum-seeking families staying in Rochester will be attending city schools when classes start next week.

City School Superintendent Carmine Peluso says the city is ready to accommodate them in line with an order issued from the state last week.

The state has advised local school districts they must accept the children of asylum-seeking families that have been relocated from New York City.

Peluso says it helps to slightly reverse the district's declining enrollment.
