Court Hearing on Awarding Marijuana Licenses in the State Takes Place Today

There's a court hearing today that could determine when the state can resume awarding licenses for marijuana stores.

A State Supreme Court judge issued an injunction earlier this month, blocking any licenses from being issued while a lawsuit brought by disabled veterans plays out.

Those veterans claim they are being harmed by regulations granting the first licenses to people with past marijuana convictions.

Cannabis industry insiders say the industry could be severely hurt, or even collapse, unless licenses resume.

So far, just over 20 pot retailers are currently operating statewide.
