The Boston man accused of murdering a Rochester officer last July will be tried separately from his co-defendants.

Kelvin Vickers will go on trial by himself on September 18th for the killing of Officer Mazurkiewicz last July, as well as the shooting deaths of two men on North Clinton Avenue the day before.

Prosecutors had sought to have Vickers tried along with the other two suspects in the North Clinton shooting, Deadrick Fulwiley and Raheem Robinson.

Police say Vickers was brought to Rochester to kill rival marijuana dealers.

In addition to the murder charges, Vickers faces assault, gun, and arson charges.
