A Rochester man has been charged in a shooting earlier this week on the city's southwest side.
Police say 31-year-old Tyreese Simmons shot a man in his 40s at Champlain and Seward streets Sunday morning.
The victim was hit in the leg and is expected to survive.
Simmons is charged with assault and two gun crimes.
