A federal tax credit granted to the state's nuclear power plants under the federal Inflation Reduction Act could help hold down your electric bills.
All four plants are operated by Constellation Energy -- including the Ginna plant in Wayne County and the Nine Mile reactors in Oswego County.
The credit was passed by Congress to reduce clean energy costs.
Governor Hochul's administration says the credit could mean hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings, starting in 2025.
