The Rochester Firefighters Union Wants City Payroll Issues Investigated

The head of the Rochester firefighters union says the union will ask the state Comptroller's office to conduct an audit of the city payroll practices and procedures.

Union President Eddie Santiago says yesterday's payroll snafu was not a one-off. He says his members have had payroll problems for more than a year.

Firefighters and police officers didn't get their direct deposits on time early yesterday morning.

Mayor Malik Evans says no one at City Hall is to blame.

He said the payroll files were properly submitted to Chase Bank. The deposits were finally posted around midday yesterday.

JPMorgan Chase says it is reviewing what went wrong.
