The Tom James Company Will Takeover Hickey Freeman Clothing In Rochester

Governor Hochul's office has announced completion of the Tom James Company's takeover of the former Hickey Freeman clothing plant on North Clinton Avenue in Rochester.

The 112-year-old maker of men's suits will be rebranded as the Rochester Tailored Clothing.

Tom James will keep the Hickey Freeman workforce on the job producing suits for its own brand and other brands as well.

Senator Chuck Schumer's office says that will keep 200 highly skilled jobs in Rochester, and that should grow to 245 jobs over the next five years.
