Governor Hochul Authorizes Free Health Care Trial Program For Sex Workers

Governor Hochul’s administration is trying out a free health care program for sex workers.

As first reported by The New York Post, the state health department has awarded a total $1 million over two years to two contractors for a trial program. One is based in New York City, and the other is in Buffalo.

Sex workers will get primary, sexual and behavioral health care, and dental care.

Critics say the program normalizes prostitution and note the program is was not approved by lawmakers.
