Rochester City Council Approves Selling One of Four City Garages Proposed

The Rochester City Council has approved the sale of a city garage and has postponed action on the sale of three others.

The Council voted to approve the sale of the East End garage on East Main Street to the University of Rochester.

The purchase price was more than $4.4 million.

However, the council held off on voting on the proposed sales of the Court Street, Mortimer Street and Washington Square garages to out-of-town investors.

In other business, the Council approved an amendment to the design contract for the expansion of Blue Cross Arena. Construction on the side facing the Genesee River is set to start by late next year.
