The Monroe County Legislature and Other Elected Officials to Get Pay Raises

The members of the Monroe County Legislature have approved pay raises for themselves and the county's other elected officials.

The vote was 19 to 10 to approve the recommendations of the Compensation Policy Commission.

The raises would be the first for most county offices in at least 20 years.

The pay for the County Executive would increase by 50 percent, to $180,000.

The County Clerk would get a 42 percent raise, and legislators would see their pay go up by 58 percent.

Pay for the sheriff would rise 17 percent to $175,000.
