Rochester Man Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer

The law has caught up with a Rochester man who was wanted for an assault last month on a Rochester police officer.

City and state police teamed up around dinnertime yesterday to track down 33-year-old Javaris Corbit.

When they spotted him driving on Sander Street, off Bay Street, police say he took off -- finally hitting a state police car on Rialto Street.

Corbit and two teens with him were taken into custody, and officers found two loaded handguns in the car.

The assault happened June 13th on Dewey Avenue.
