The Genesee County Sherriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam.
They say someone claiming to be a Sergeant from the Sheriff's Office is calling people, asking for money to resolve a bogus arrest warrant.
Deputies remind people they will becer request money, gift cards, or electronic payments to resolve active warrants.
Anyone who receives one of these calls is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 343-5000.
