Rochester Firefighter on Unpaid Suspension Following Child Porn Charges

The City of Rochester says it has now placed Firefighter Brett Marrapese on unpaid leave, and notified him that the city is moving to fire him after he was accused of possessing and transmitting child porn.

The city put Marrapese on leave immediately after the FBI served a search warrant related to federal child pornography charges.

The city says it's following the disciplinary rulebook as required by law.

Marrapese has been suspended with pay since June 13th after FBI agents searched his home, his camper, his vehicle and his lockers at the Rochester Fire Department's Engine 3 on Emerson Street.

Marrapese is accused of communicating with at least 110 minors, including two identified as victims by federal authorities.

He allegedly posed as a teenager, and coerced them into producing and sending him explicit images.
