Governor Hochul has signed the so-called Trans Safe Haven Act, which was sponsored by Rochester Assembly member Harry Bronson
He says the bill established protections for people seeking gender-affirming care for themselves or their children and for the health care practitioners who provide that care.
And Bronson calls the bill an "unwavering statement" that New York will not be complicit in other state’s attempts to block gender affirming care which Bronson equates to hate.
The law protects licenses of New York health care providers and blocks malpractice claims when they provide gender-affirming care to patients from other states.
