State Bill That Bans Wildlife Hunting Competitions Approved

The state Assembly has given final legislative approval to a bill banning competitions in which people kill wildlife for prizes or cash.

Supporters of the ban say the competitions encourage senseless brutality and incentivize wasteful killing.

Exceptions to the ban would be allowed for fish, deer, turkeys and bears.
