The State is Expanding Paid Parental Leave for State Employees

New York State continues to expand paid parental leave.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that an agreement with unions will result in more than 80 percent of New York State employees getting access to paid parental leave.

They will be offered up to 12 weeks of fully paid leave for bonding with a newborn, fostered, or adopted child. In February, the state first started offering paid leave to some state employees who were not in unions.
