State Court Considers Redrawing New York's Congressional Districts Again

A state appellate court is considering the attempt by Democrats to again redraw New York's congressional districts.

The court heard arguments yesterday in an appeal by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

A lower court already dismissed their suit to throw out the districts drawn by a court after the state legislature created district boundaries that benefitted Democrats.

If the Democrats win the appeal, the state's redistricting commission could draw districts more favorable for them. That could reverse the advantage that gave Republicans overall control of the House of Representatives in the last election.
