Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies Still Working Without a Contract

The union representing road patrol deputies in the Wayne County Sheriff's Office has rejected the county's latest contract offer.

Deputies have been working for about 18 months without a contract.

Teamsters Local 118 is demanding better pay and benefits. And the union says better pay elsewhere is causing deputies to leave to work for other law enforcement agencies.

The contract dispute is now in mediation.
