Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Wife, Arson

A Rochester man has admitted in court to killing his estranged wife and setting his own home on fire.

49-year-old Juan Rivera pleaded guilty to 1st-degree manslaughter and arson.

Prosecutors say Rivera stabbed 35-year-old Maribel Diaz to death inside her vehicle on Suntru Street in June of last year.

He then set fire to his McNaughton Street home as officers arrived to arrest him -- kiilling several pets.

Rivera will be sentenced to 25 years for the manslaughter charge in July, plus 1 to 3 years for the arson.
