Former Trooper Takes Plea Deal for Tipping Off Gambling Ring Head

A now-retired state trooper has agreed to a plea deal on on federal charges he tipped off the head of an illegal gambling operation about an investigation.

Thomas Loewke has pleaded guilty to obstruction of a state or local law enforcement investigation.

Loewke retired last summer while the government was investigating an illegal sports betting website and poker games at an office on Blossom Road

He was arrested in January for obstruction of justice.

Loewke is facing 12 to 18 months in prison, but he can appeal for a lower sentence.

His sentencing is slated for September 6th.
