Monroe County Board of Elections Releases Report on Results Delay

The Monroe County Board of Elections has finished its probe into the delayed election results last November.

Election officials say the several-hour delay was caused by transient network issues, as well as the input all at once from absentee and early voting.

Staffers tried to recreate the issue the following month, but couldn't, partly because the RAM on the county server was quadrupled.

The BOE announced they will move Election Night canvassing and reporting to the Brighton Training and Service Center, which runs on its own server.

They will also preload early and absentee voting results on the Monday before Election Day, but not report those results until the polls close.

The Board once again says the Election Night issues did not affect the results.
