The Rochester City School District has approved a billion-dollar budget.
The 2023-2024 school year budget includes over $100 million in federal stimulus funding, mostly for a near-complete overhaul of district computer software.
It also includes funding for as-yet undetermined school safety protocols.
The budget calls for 112 new hires, including 49 more teachers.
This despite projections that RCSD will have fewer than 20,000 students for all grades.
