Public Hearings Bing Held Today to Discuss Proposed State Toll Increases

The state Thruway Authority will hold public hearings beginning today on the proposed toll increases.

The increases were given a preliminary OK in December but will take public comments before final approval.

The Authority says tolls haven't risen since 2010 and would still be among the lowest among the nation's toll roads. Rates for E-Zpass users would rise five percent in January, and another five percent in January 2027.

The first hearing is today in Cheektowaga. The second is tomorrow at the State Fairgrounds. Two more in-person hearings and a virtual hearing are planned in the coming weeks
