Rochester Man to Serve 15 Years for Firing at RPD Officers

A parolee accused of shooting at Rochester police officers has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Donovan Humprey pleaded guilty this month to the attempted aggravated murder of a police officer.

He allegedly opened the front door of a home on Remington Street and opened fire on officers responding to a domestic call last May.

He then allegedly ran after the officers, but his gun jammed as he attempted to fire more shots.

He was on parole for a 2008 manslaughter conviction at the time, and was also indicted in 2021 for assault with a gun.
