More Car Thefts in Rochester This Year Than in All of Last Year

More cars have been stolen in Rochester since the start of this year than in all of last year.

City police data shows nearly 12-hundred stolen vehicle reports since the start of the year.

The surge is being blamed on social media videos showing the ease of stealing some models.

Makers of Kias and Hyundais are offering free anti-theft software for affected models.
