Rochester Teen Sentenced for Setting Man on Fire, Killing Him

A Rochester teenager is headed to prison for up to 15 years to life for setting a man on fire and killing him.

Adriel Riley was convicted in a March bench trial on second-degree murder and weapon charges.

He was found guilty of dousing Steven Amenhauser with a flammable liquid and setting him on fire inside his apartment on Lyell Avenue in March 2021.

At the time, Riley was 14.

Co-defendant Zayvion Perry pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
