The Town of Pittsford says it will no longer ask organizers of a drag story hour to pay the security costs of having Monroe County deputies cover the event. The town had asked the group to pay $8,500 for the security costs. The town says it's now heard the group might sue if the town insists on recovering the money. It now says the additional suspense will not be significant and a lawsuit would negate the town's effort to spare taxpayers the extra cost of the event.
Both anti-and-pro demonstrations are planned while the drag story hour takes place at a Pittsford Village book store.
