Former Rochester Pawn Shop Owner Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison

Federal prosecutors say former Rochester pawn shop operator Devin Tribunella will serve four years in prison.

He will also forfeit his cars, including a Lamborghini, a Porsche, a Mercedes and a Rolls Royce.

He will also forfeit more than $155 million from his bank accounts and a $1.6 million judgement.

The 39-year-old Tribunella was found guilty of transporting stolen goods in interstate commerce after police found he was using a network of shoplifters called "boosters" to steal merchandise from area stores, which he would then sell for profit over eBay.

Tribunella ran the scam from January of 2017 to November of 2019.

During that time authorities say he shipped more than $3.2 million of stolen goods to buyers outside of New York State.
