Conditional Marijuana Dispensary License Granted to Business in Ithaca

The first Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary license Upstate has been granted to an Ithaca business.

The Governor's Office says the pop-up dispensary will be run by a Brooklyn native who had previously served time for pot-based crimes.

This, as licenses for Western and Central New York remain on hold, because of an injunction granted when a Michigan company sued the state, claiming the state is discriminating by putting people with marijuana convictions first in line for licenses.

The state lost a motion asking for the injunction to be lifted last month.
