UPDATE: Suspect in Teen Shooting Arrested in Burger King Homicide

UPDATE: Rochester police say the first of yesterday's three shootings led to the arrest of a suspect in the January 14th homicide at the Lyell Avenue Burger King.

19-year-old Dashaun Tubbs was arrested yesterday on St. James Street, for last month's murder of Sideic Robinson, and the wounding yesterday of a 17-year-old.

Police Chief David Smith says Tubbs knew Robinson and the shooting was the result of disrespect.

The second shooting yesterday ended in the death of 15-year-old Suade McKnight on Alphonse Street.

While police and reporters were there, a man was apprehended with a 9-millimeter ghost gun.

The third shooting happened on Remington Street and critically wounded a 17-year-old.

Original story:

Police say three teenagers were shot in Rochester this afternoon.

One becomes the city's 9th homicide victim of the year, and another is in serious condition after surgery.

The third was shot in the leg and is recovering.

Police say the fatal shooting took place about 2:30 PM on Alphonse Street.

The teenage victim had been shot in the upper body and died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate with a heavy presence in the area. The victim's name has not yet been released.

About 10 minutes later, another victim was shot nearby at Remington and Lang Streets, not far from the scene of the fatal shooting.

That victim was also hit in the upper body and was taken to Strong Hospital.

Police are working out the details of what happened.

The third victim was actually the first to be shot.

He's 17, and was shot in the legs on St. James Street.

A suspect is currently in custody and police have recovered a gun.
