Rochester-area Federal Judge to Assume Senior Status

US District Court Judge Frank Geraci (provided)

A Rochester-area federal judge is set to assume Senior Status, opening a spot on the bench.

Frank Geraci will be allowed to scale back his duties as a judge on the US District Court in Western New York as of April 1st.

That'll allow him to cut back on his caseload while maintaining full pay.

Geraci was appointed by then-President Obama to serve in 2012, and he was chief judge of the district from 2015 to 2021.

President Biden will now nominate a successor, whom the Senate would confirm.
