New York is joining a number of other states in securing abortion rights.
Governor Hochul has joined 19 other Democratic governors from around the country in forming what's being called the Reproductive Freedom Alliance.
Those governors say they're "committed to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom."
The coalition comes after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year and left the abortion issue up to the states.
In a joint statement, the governors say 36 million women lost access to care after that ruling.
