Senator Wants Mario Cuomo's Name Removed from Thruway Bridge

A Democratic state Senator from the Hudson Valley wants to remove Mario Cuomo's name from the Thruway Bridge over the Hudson River.

Senator James Skoufis (skoo-fiss) says most people in the area still call the bridge the Tappan Zee. He tells Albany's Channel 10 many people fell the name was stolen.

He says replacing signs would be the only cost, and he says many of the old signs may have been saved by the Thruway Authority and the transportation department.
