UPDATE: RPD Identifies Victim in Beechwood Neighborhood Homicide

UPDATE:

Rochester police have made no arrests in the city's latest homicide.

It happened Saturday night, when 35-year-old Jermaine Wilkins was shot while walking on Denver Street, in the Beechwood neighborhood.

Police say he ran to a home on Parsells Avenue, yelled he was shot, and a person there called 9-1-1.

Wilkins died at the scene.

Police say he was living in Buffalo, but was originally from Rochester and was visiting family here.

It was the city's eighth homicide this year.

One man is dead, after a shooting Saturday evening in Rochester's Beechwood neighborhood.

Police say a man in his 30s knocked on a door on Parsells Ave., near Greeley St., after being shot in another location nearby.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dead man's identity has not yet been released.

There's no word yet of any arrests.

It's the 8th homicide in Rochester so far this year.
