Zayvion Perry pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 53-year-old Steven Amenhauser at the man's apartment on Lyell Avenue.
At the time of the attack two years ago, Perry was 16.
Co-defendant Adriel Riley Jr. is currently on trial for second-degree murder, arson and a gun crime.
He was 14 when Amenhauser was killed.
