Rochester Man Sentenced in Buffalo-area Drive-by Shooting

A Rochester man will serve 15 years in prison for a drive-by shooting that paralyzed a teen in the Buffalo area.

The unnamed man, who was 17 at the time, pleaded guilty last September to attempted murder and assault.

Prosecutors say he opened fire on the victim, also 17 at the time, back in July 2021 in Amherst.

Despite the suspect's age, the judge denied him youthful offender status.

Co-defendant Jeremiah Johnson of Amherst, who drove the car, is serving 13 years on the same charges.
